Common wear out problem on the Metros.
The shroud goes behind the dash with the spring & flat washer. In the service manual there is a good picture (and in our SHK3 description) showing the correct sequence for these parts.
Our new reproduction fits better to the ball and is made out of solid billet steel, not stamped tin like the originals. We can't imagine a quality part like this ever wearing out again.
