Description
Begins E-11001 - E-45671. This gasket fits the 3 piece rear window.
Note: This gasket only fits the 1" middle stainless with 6 chrome screws on the inside. If you don't have this set up we can sell you the used parts to convert it to this gasket. Please check out Part# BOK32 if that's the case.
The gasket is the same as the BO214 Late Rear Window Gasket - the only difference is this one has the 2 partitions.
When replacing the rear window gasket we highly recommend replacing the BO215 Rear Window Studs. These are a one-time-use product. Once they are installed you will need to cut off the ends so the gasket doesn't get pushed out.
For this gasket we also have the BO216 3 Piece Rear Window Stud & BO253 3 Piece Early Rear Window Divider Stainless Steel Screw & Stud.
Be sure to install the top bow stainless before installing the glass and gasket in your Metro.
Also available in our BOK14 Gasket Kit.
Installation tip:
We've done these numerous ways and they all worked. The best way we settled on was assembling everything on the bench and taping it together. Don't forget to install the top stainless in the rubber first, as per our online description. From there make sure you use some sort of lubricant like fantastic or it'll never go in. Make sure all the lips and edges are cleaned up and in good condition. If you have buildup of rust, paint, or dirt it'll be too difficult to install. If you have all that prep work done properly, start at one of the corners and slowly work it in. I've seen glass companies use big suction cups that really worked. We've always used our palms & a rubber mallet, and sometimes a lot of pressure. You have to make sure to have the glass seated correctly in the gasket also. Some can be a real bear to get in but they will install if everything is right. These gaskets that we sell are top notch and are a really nice fit.
