Our regulators have the screw in terminals as original.
Original regulators are hard to trust, the contacts start sticking randomly and now you have a dead battery. An original regulator is usually the culprit when this happens.
Don't forget to clean the contacts before installation with emery cloth or fine grit sandpaper - as noted with a sticker on the regulator. Also to obtain optimal performance adjust as needed according to the service manual. There are good instructions in the service manual with how to fine tune your voltage regulator to factory specifications.
